Nice overview Jeff. And Wizard if Raymond was able to change what needed to be changed it would not BE the same religion... I was so upset Thursday untill I put it all in prospective. Ray Franz was a truly successful man!

in the light of the passing of raymond franz this week, it is clear from the reaction that many were affected by the deeds of this man.
while he was called gentle by those who knew him (for the record, i never got to meet him personally) his reputation preceded him both in the ex jehovah's witness community, and still to this day at the world headquarters of jehovah's witnesses.. while his writings were indeed fair and reasonable, (i challenge anyone to read his books and find bitterness associated with him toward his former peers) i think it would be a mistake to remember ray franz as somewhat of a gentle, doting old man.

Why can't the elders MIND THEIR BUSINESS!
by babygirl30 inso yesterday i end up having a nice evening with old friends who used to be in my congregation years ago.
i always loved this family, and thought we were pretty close.
what was meant to be a 'drop by - say hi' ended up being a 3hr visit!!

No Memorial For Ray Franz.
by Blue Grass ini've read on multiple threads that ray will not have a memorial service per his request and that he will be cremated.
on one hand this is good because it's confirms his sincerity and humility and shows he doesn't seek praise or attention.
it's more evidence that his books were written honestly and weren't written out of spite or for just monetary gain.

Silly things I wondered as a kid
by exwhyzee inif god is like a loving father why did he set up a way for adam and eve to possibly fail by putting the "magic tree" in the garden?
if my dad sabotaged his kids this way or felt the need to test our love him he'd be considered an abusive father.. when god put an angel with a spinning sword in front of the entrance to the garden why didn't a&e walk a few miles down from there and climb over the wall ?

Noah's flood always confused me cuz animals from all around the world had to live in one boat and that was imposable...
I used to have nightmairs about the big A and was so affraid that I would be either tortured or killed and wasn't sure if I could answer the questions from the interigator right...
Jehovah always seemed mean and vindictive.... never felt the love and forgivness...

Ray Franz has had a stroke
by coffee_black injust setting the record straight.
there is another thread that notes a claim on wiki that said that ray has died.. he had a stroke yesterday, and is in the hospital.
he is still alive.

if Ray FRanz dies will we learn more of what he knew?
by judge rutherFRAUD ini'm a big fan of mr. raymond franz and read both of his books a number of times.
does anyone here think maybe he didn't tell everything he knew.
for legal reasons and will expose more than he has told before , since the wts can't touch him after he dies.
